Are single men over 60 years in Dallas, Texas?

I am looking for male friends, I'm new here and want to talk, walk, biking and hiking ….. all economic activities ????? I'm not so bad, intelligent, and it is easy to agree with …. How to find you ????? Craigs List …

There are many more than 60 men in Dallas and some of us are single. The best place to make friends with common interests would be in the clubs of this activity. If you like cycling there are few cycling and walking clubs also. I have no idea of Craigs list I've ever seen.

a giant part of the Theatre District’s NYC nightlife are the spectacular older theatres. There’s a vibe in these old houses of ages past, when people flocked to the theatres to see the most recent plays, and that aura continues today. People get dressed to the 9s to attend the theatre, and there is a spirit of camraderie and bon vivant as the audience settles in together as a group to take part in the experiences that the show offers. Some of the theatres, for example the Winter Garden, are vintage houses. After cats closed its nineteen-year run there, the interior of the house was revived to what it looked like in the 1920s.

Should I give up on trying to find someone?

I’m in my late 20’s and I have never had a girlfriend. I’m kind of short, about 5′7″, athletic build, decent looking, but extremely shy. Women don’t like short guys. With that being said, I have a very hard time meeting women. I have tried online introductions sites, meetup singles groups, etc… No luck what so ever. When out in public, I can’t even go up to and start a conversation with a woman, let alone an attractive woman.

I don’t want to be alone the rest of my life, but maybe I should just give up on trying to find someone and just except it. If the whole mail order bride thing was actually real, I would do that. Maybe Dr. Phil could help. lol. What do you think? Should I give up on trying to find someone?

Any suggestions would be great.

giving up is THE WORST thing you could do.
there’s plenty of girls out there who like guys, no matter what they look like.
go to a place that interests you (such as a concert, bar, sports game, even a bowling alley). a place you like is the best place to meet a girl, because it shows you have common interest.
good luck!

Cities for Singles in the DC area?

I am a man of 29 years thinking about moving to San Francisco suburban DC. (I am also Research in Boston and Denver) should not be too close to the city, half an hour on public transport would be good. I work from my home design studio to travel does not concern me. More interested in Maryland to Virginia. I want a safe city and first-rate offering excellent shopping nearby and is geared toward singles. I do not want to rent and wants buy something big enough for me. (House of town or a small house) What cities better suited to my needs? Thanks!

Hello. As a former resident of DC (7 years), who now lives in Philadelphia, I can tell there's really not a single suburban-oriented. Washington's suburbs are like the rest of the United States with many families, shopping malls, chain restaurants, etc. Most of the singles in the Washington area in reality tend to gravitate to life DC itself. I know the city as a handful of others, took a negative image in terms of personal safety, etc. I can assure you, for the most part, the media Communication is inaccurate. The areas of the city's most crime takes place, never go or pass through. In the 7 years I lived there, no car, I've never been the victim of a crime … or having someone I knew. Moreover, in addition to the DC Police Department, the area of the city, I lived in (NW) has been under the jurisdiction of the uniformed services of protection (due to all the embassies) and the National Park Service (because of all the parks and monuments NPS) so you always see some kind of patrol. The District of Columbia is divided into quadrants. Northwest, North, Southwest and Southeast. Northwest is the region of focus. Tons individual great restaurants and cafes, shops, Whole Foods Markets, excellent transport links and very passable. Some of these districts to focus on that the style of the house looking Tenleytown, Friendship Heights, Van Ness, Cleveland Park and Woodley Park / Adams Morgan. Each of these districts has a metro station in the district, which is possible since most of these districts. I invite you to visit the park for the first time in Cleveland, I love it. It's like a small village in the city (with tons of good service Metro Station), and a lot of trees, great architecture and multiple access points to Rock Creek Park, which is beautiful. This is where Grover Cleveland and DC elite had summer homes during the late 19th century, slightly higher elevation and cooler climate provide wood is still valid today day. These areas are a bit expensive, but from the SF housing market I suppose it will be something similar, but not so scary for you. In addition, we find that out of the suburbs will not bring the savings you can imagine, especially if one takes into account the quality of life and travel time. Hope this helps!

Late Life Romance

As Unmarried and Single Americans Week (September 20-26th) is upon us, it is important to remember that a significant number of singles today are seniors.

According to U.S. Census Bureau News (July, 2009), there are 15.8 million single Americans who are 65 or older.  These older Americans account for 16 percent of all unmarried and single people age 18 and older. Many of these seniors have found themselves single again after a divorce or the death of a significant other.  Although many single seniors don’t wish to remain single, it can be hard to get back on the horse again after so many years out of the dating scene.

According to relationship expert Paul A. Falzone, CEO of The Right One and Together Dating, “Dating isn’t just for the young.  It’s for the young at heart.  Age doesn’t matter.”

As the CEO of one of the world’s largest brick-and-mortar dating services, Falzone has paired thousands of clients during more than 35 years in business.  A large number of these singles were people over the age of 55 looking for friendship and love.

“When you’re a single senior, you’re looking for many of the same things that singles of any age are looking for – someone to spend time with who shares your interests and who has those qualities that you find attractive,” explained Falzone.

Take Advantage of Technology

Falzone encourages single seniors to learn more about and take advantage of technology.  A traditional brick and mortar dating service that uses high-tech matchmaking software to match members in conjunction with matchmaker consultation services is ideal for single seniors.  This type of “high touch” matchmaking service, such as The Right One or Together Dating’s, will help you get back out into the dating scene.  Even if you don’t think you’re ready to look for love just yet and are more interested in making new friends, this type of dating service can be instrumental in introducing you to others who share your interests and who are also looking for friendship.

Many seniors are already knowledgeable about social networking sites such as Facebook and use it to correspond with their children and grandchildren.  For those who aren’t familiar with it, Facebook is a great way to communicate with family members but you can also use it to get back in touch with folks you probably haven’t seen in a while such as former colleagues or high school and college classmates.

Have a hobby?  Then there’s probably a “Meetup Group” for it.  From quilting, photography and sports to dining out and more, you may find others with similar interests online at Meetup.com.

New Dating Etiquette

For single seniors who haven’t dated in a long time, perhaps even decades, Falzone advises of the new dating etiquette:

  • Meet in a public place by your own transportation. Play it safe until you get to know the person.
  • Men and women now split the bill.  Don’t commit the faux pas of expecting one person to pay for everything. Both parties should offer to pay their share and be prepared to do so. Be sure to have cash on hand in case plastic isn’t on the menu.
  • Don’t air your “dirty laundry”. Problems with your ex or your adult children?  Conflicts with families or former partners are a natural part of life, yet there’s no need to share the burden early on.
  • Dating is about BOTH people.  Dating is and always will be two-way, with plenty of listening and communication. You should work around both of your schedules and interests when arranging a date and deciding where to go.  One person doesn’t get to call all the shots.
  • Guard your personal information and your assets. Know that there are many people who are quick to take advantage of the loneliness of seniors.  Be aware that not everyone you meet may be a person of substance, ethically and morally.
  • Be safe. Tell a friend or someone else close to you, where and with whom you are going on your date.  If you can’t reach anyone, call your own voicemail and leave a detailed message and any contact info you have about your date.

Falzone continued, “Something that hasn’t changed is courtesy. Courtesy transcends the generations.  Confirm your date, be on time and conclude it comfortably. If you want to see each other again, great, but if not, that’s okay too.  Go on your date with no expectations, and be sure to end it on a polite note.  Most importantly – be yourself and be honest and sincere.”

Sober Living San Diego

A sober living house is an ideal location for people fighting an addiction to drugs or alcohol. It is designed to be a follow-up to a traditional rehabilitation program and offers a person a safe and structured living environment which is promoting of sobriety and learning a healthy lifestyle. A sober living San Diego facility helps people in California readjust and transition once they have undergone successful rehabilitation.

A sober living San Diego facility provides a gap between life and sobriety by providing recovery patients with the tools and skills need to support them in the recovery process. Men and women both are encouraged to work towards true recovery and lead a normal life again. The patients are fulfilled emotionally, physically and mentally and learn to achieve a balance in life again.

A sober living facility is much like an apartment or group-type facility. There are bedrooms, a kitchen area, living room, parking areas, and other amenities designed to simulate a non-treatment type of environment. The areas surrounding the community are normally much like a park area with outdoor recreational opportunities that will allow relaxation and stress-relief.

Also offered at a sober living San Diego facility are drug and alcohol education and information, group, individual and family counseling, therapy and other modalities designed to help the recovery patient. Some facilities are Christian-based and offer church sessions, prayer groups and bible meetings in conjunction with other traditional treatment modalities.

Some sober living communities offer gym classes, cooking classes, painting, sculpture and pottery workshops, massage therapy and horseback riding. A resident can find many ways to occupy their time with sober-based activities and opportunities. The time a recovery patient spends at a sober living community can be very beneficial for a person who may be ambivalent or unsure about returning to a familiar environment rife with emotional and mental triggers that may drive them to drink or use drugs.

If a recovery patient is unsure or scared about the prospect of returning to the old environment and does not feel well-equipped to deal with the temptations, they can experience a relapse. When sobriety is challenged, a sober living home can prove to be an invaluable asset to a recovery patient. Many people who have lived within the environment of a sober living home have reported it helped them greatly in many ways.

Living free from addiction is a life-long commitment and personal choice, residing at a sober living San Diego facility can be the answer for many people who are taking the first steps away from a traditional rehabilitation facility. The home provides group support and life skills along with several other services which facilitate a healthy environment and help improve the post-rehab success rates for many recovery patients.

Because of the difficult nature of drug or alcohol addiction, it takes a recovery patient a daily effort and struggle to resist the temptations and lure of using drugs or drinking. With the advantage of being able to lean on others in the same situation, many recovery patients have found a source of strength, encouragement and inspiration where there may have previously been none.

If you are interested in information about sober living and the many benefits, please contact us today for further assistance.
